Apple and Lemon Zest Buns

If you love apples and want to find new ways to include them in your baking, then these apple and lemon zest buns are just for you.

Ingredients:

Flour – 2 cups

Sugar – 1 cup

Salt – 1 teaspoon

Soda – 1 teaspoon

Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon

Vegetable oil – 3 tablespoons

Water – 1 cup

Zest of 1 lemon

Apples – 3 pieces (medium)

Preparation:

  1. Sift flour, add sugar, salt, soda (quench with lemon juice).
  2. Pour in vegetable oil and water.
  3. Knead the dough (tough, does not stick to your hands), cover with film and put in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Chop the apples on a coarse grater. Add lemon zest and a little sugar, mix.
  5. Divide the dough into 4-6 equal parts, form balls. Roll out into thin layers.
  6. Put the apple filling on the dough, distribute evenly over the entire surface.
  7. Make tubes-rolls from the dough with the filling, roll into spirals.
  8. Put the buns on a baking sheet, press lightly and make punctures on top with a fork.
  9. Grease the surface of the buns with vegetable oil. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
