Shepherd’s pie or shepherd’s pie is a classic Irish dish. At first glance, it may seem like there are a lot of ingredients used. Prepare ingredients:
Potatoes – 10 pcs.
Celery – 1 stalk
Carrots – 1 pcs.
Onions – 1 pc.
Red wine – 50 ml
Lentils – 100 g
Chickpeas – 100 g
Sun-dried tomatoes – 100 g
Butter – 1 tablespoon
Olive oil – 9 tablespoons
Ground nutmeg – 1/3 teaspoon
Fresh rosemary – 2 sprigs
Garlic – 2 cloves
Mushrooms – 200 g
Coriander – ½ teaspoon
Thyme
Ground red pepper
Salt
For the broth:
Dried porcini mushrooms (you can use any mushrooms) – 30 g
Fresh rosemary – 2 sprigs
Thyme – ½ teaspoon
Carrots – 1/3 pcs.
- First, boil a broth of dried mushrooms, rosemary, thyme and sliced carrots.
2. Boil and mash the potatoes. Add butter, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, pepper, nutmeg and mix.
3.Boil the lentils and chickpeas.
4. Heat a frying pan and pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil into it. Add the rosemary and stir.
5. Chop the garlic into rings and add to the rosemary. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
6. Add the sliced mushrooms, salt, pepper, coriander and cook for 2-3 minutes.
7. Chop celery, carrots, onions and add to the skillet. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
8. Add the red wine, stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.
9. Add the previously boiled lentils and chickpeas to the vegetables. Stir.
10. Add the sliced sun-dried tomatoes.
11. Pour the broth into the pan, stir and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Remove the pan from the stove and mash all the vegetables.
12. Place in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
13. Mix 3 tablespoons olive oil with thyme and drizzle over the top of the mashed potatoes.
14. Bake for 30 minutes at 190 degrees.
15. When serving, garnish with greens.
