Green peas with bacon. Italian recipe.

I like Italian cuisine, so I want to share a very simple and delicious recipe. For it, you will need green peas and bacon. It may seem strange, but they go well together, and having prepared this recipe, you will get an excellent side dish for the main course.

Ingredients:

Peeled fresh peas – 400 g

Bacon – 200 g

Sweet pepper – ½ pc.

Onion – 1 pc.

Oregano – 1 teaspoon

Vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons

Fresh basil – 5-6 leaves

Ground black pepper

Salt

Preparation:

  1. Cut the bacon and pepper into strips and the onion into cubes.
  2. Fry the onion in vegetable oil.
  3. Add the bacon to the onion and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the bell pepper and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the peas to the vegetables and bacon. Sprinkle with oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  6. When serving, garnish with basil leaves.
