If you love apples and want to find new ways to include them in your baking, then these apple and lemon zest buns are just for you.
Ingredients:
Flour – 2 cups
Sugar – 1 cup
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Soda – 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
Vegetable oil – 3 tablespoons
Water – 1 cup
Zest of 1 lemon
Apples – 3 pieces (medium)
Preparation:
- Sift flour, add sugar, salt, soda (quench with lemon juice).
- Pour in vegetable oil and water.
- Knead the dough (tough, does not stick to your hands), cover with film and put in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
- Chop the apples on a coarse grater. Add lemon zest and a little sugar, mix.
- Divide the dough into 4-6 equal parts, form balls. Roll out into thin layers.
- Put the apple filling on the dough, distribute evenly over the entire surface.
- Make tubes-rolls from the dough with the filling, roll into spirals.
- Put the buns on a baking sheet, press lightly and make punctures on top with a fork.
- Grease the surface of the buns with vegetable oil. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
